Playfit
At the playground above the upper station (near Hotel Sonnenberg)
Next to the top station of the Sonnenbergbahn is a movement course, called “Playfit”. It consists of four different fitness machines for young and old, for daily exercises in the open air. “Playfit” improves flexibility, enhances coordination and helps to escape from everyday life. The machines are easy to use and are available all year round free of charge.

Vitaparcours
Waldstrasse Sonnenberg (near Hotel Sonnenberg)
On the Vitaparcours you train in a balanced way endurance, mobility and strength: endurance, so that the heart does not weaken; agility, because it promotes proper fitness; Strength to build those muscles that are important for burning fat. Train regularly on the Vitaparcours and stay fit.

Barbecue
Firewood for grilling
The barbecue sites only have their own wood supplies in exceptional cases. Therefore the Sonnenbergbahn offers firewood as a supplement at the mountain and valley station. Whoever wants to use one of the fireplaces on the Sonnenberg is responsible in for combustible material. Wood lying around in the nearby woods may be used for the barbecue areas.

Equipment barbecue areas & rules
All barbecue areas have a fireplace, a grill grid, a garbage can and seating. Of course the use of all 6 barbecue areas is free of charge.
There are a few rules that need to be respected
— The garbage is disposed of or taken away and disposed of at the next garbage can or at home if necessary.
— When leaving the grill place the fire is extinguished, because of the danger of fire.
— The barbecue area will be left tidy and clean as you hope to find it yourself.

Gütsch – Oberwil – Sonnenberg
First you take the Gütschbahn to the castle Gütsch, there you get off and follow the path that leads from the castle into the forest. Follow this path until the fork (forest hut), there you turn right and at the next opportunity turn left again. When you reach the next junction, turn left. At the next crossroads, go straight on. At the next opportunity turn right and then left again. You will notice that you have walked correctly if you are now at the edge of the forest or on a meadow. You cross the meadow until you come to a path, which you follow in the direction of the farm. Now you are in Oberwil LU. At the farm, or shortly thereafter, a path leads left towards the forest, which you follow now. Follow the wooden stairs up and at the next junction go straight on until you reach the edge of the forest. There you turn right and follow the path to the road. When you reach the road, turn right one last time and follow the road until you reach the Hotel & Restaurant Sonnenberg.

Gütsch – Waldweiher – Sonnenberg
First take the Gütschbahn to Schloss Gütsch, get off there and continue along the path that leads from the castle into the forest until the turn-off (forest hut). There you turn left and then right again. Follow the path to the forest pond. If you are lucky, you will see fish, frogs and turtles living there. From there on you continue on the same path through the forest. Turn left at the next junction and follow the edge of the forest. At the next crossing turn left and follow the path past the farm to the road. Here you turn right and follow the road until you reach Hotel-Restaurant Sonnenberg.

Sonnenberg – Littau
Continue along the road in front of the Hotel-Restaurant Sonnenberg towards the gravel parking lots and the forest. Then follow the signs to Littau. A bit further ahead you will come to a wooden staircase. Once you reach the bottom, follow the path to the edge of the forest. Then go straight on for a while, turn left at the road and then right at the next opportunity. If you follow this road, you will come to the main road, where the bus station “Schützenhaus, Littau” is located.
We recommend to wear good shoes, furthermore you should avoid the route in winter or after rainy days, because the path is only partly secured, steep and slippery.

Sonnenberg – Ränggloch – Obernau
From Hotel-Restaurant Sonneberg you walk through the forest towards the top station of the Sonnenbergbahn and then towards the playground. Then you climb up the hill and turn right at the next junction. Then follow the path to the fork and turn right. At the next junction, go down to the left and follow this path to the Ränggloch. There you follow the path and cross the bridge. Then you turn left twice and cross a bridge again. Shortly after passing the pond, cross Blattigstrasse and follow the path through the forest, following the signs to Obernau. When you come out of the forest, follow the road until you reach the fork and then turn right into Hubelstrasse until you reach the bus station.

Sonnenberg Rundweg – via Wolfsschlucht
You walk from Hotel-Restaurant Sonnenberg through the forest towards the top station of the Sonnenberg cable car and then towards the playground. Then you walk up the hill, turn left at the next junction and follow the path you have taken. At the next opportunity turn left and follow the path through the Wolfsschlucht. After the canyon, take the first possible path to the right and when you reach the top, turn right again. Follow this path to the edge of the forest, turn left and then right again. This way leads you to the playground, there you turn left and follow the path towards the forest. Now turn right for the last time and walk down the road to the Hotel & Restaurant Sonnenberg.

Foxtrail, the exciting treasure hunt, also leads over the Sonnenberg. But watch out: Who takes part, must constantly think outside the box… Because the Foxtrail fox does everything to ensure that each of his tracks remains undiscovered. His tracks consist of one tricky task after the other, with whose solutions you can sneak up on him.
